We initially thought they would just play the reception, but Lori was able to configure the group to play live music during the ceremony and cocktail hour as well. Everybody involved was professional, high quality, and fantastic in all respects. The song list to choose from was so much fun and Lori took the time to really understand what we wanted out of the party as well. “Wow – it’s impossible to say enough good things about Modern Tribe. They were the stars of our wedding! Lori worked with us through a whole lot of COVID uncertainty (including a reschedule), with patience and kindness. She was thoughtful about her approach to the flow of the music at our ceremony and reception, and walked through the venue with us in advance to talk through the order of the day. Their catalog of songs is super diverse and full of so many hits it was hard to narrow down our choices! And they learned a few new songs for us to make the music personal, which meant so much to us. Throughout the evening the band knew exactly what type of music to play to fit the energy of the crowd, and my friends told me they didn’t leave the dance floor all night! We so appreciate Lori’s attention to detail throughout the process, her patience with our relatives, and the amazing job she did with each and every song. “Modern Tribe is the best to work with. After having to move our wedding three different times due to fraudulent wedding venues, COVID, and wildfires, Lori was SO flexible each time we had to change plans (even willing to drive 5 hours to our new wedding venue after everything). Our wedding planner works with bands as part of her day job (wedding planning on the side) and she said Modern Tribe was the easiest and most flexible band she has ever worked with. Modern Tribe gives you an extensive list of songs to choose from and also will learn a few songs! They never played any song we didn’t ask them to, but they also read the room so well and ended up playing more upbeat songs instead of slow songs because our guests were dancing so much. Thank you Lori and the rest of Modern Tribe for being a part of our special day. We’d recommend them to anyone!”

“Modern Tribe was incredible as our wedding band!! We decided to take a chance on them based on the few videos we found online and their extensive repertoire list, and it paid off big time. Lori was helpful and communicative throughout the planning process, and very patient with us as we spent a long time deciding on our first dance song. She offered to learn up to three songs free of charge, and she and the band held a rehearsal specifically for our wedding. Lori also generously arrived several hours early to let us borrow her keyboard and microphone so that my brothers, who are jazz musicians, could perform during the appetizer hour before dinner.From the very beginning of our dance reception, the dance floor was full and everyone was having a blast. Lori and the band played the most EPIC long hora medley and it was the highlight of the party! My grandma, who flew from across the country, was dancing the hora on the dance floor (despite her arthritis!) and having the time of her life. Lori also helped us coordinate a surprise Bollywood-style flash mob dance, cueing up the music for us to surprise the groom. Throughout the whole evening, the seven-member band was on point. Their sound was excellent, their covers were beautifully done, and they read the room to keep the energy going all night. They seamlessly transitioned from classics like the Beatles and Earth, Wind and Fire to today’s hits like Mumford and Sons and Taylor Swift. The band even got an encore after the last song and gracefully obliged with one last song! Thank you SO much Modern Tribe for helping us throw the best and most memorable wedding party that our family and friends will be raving about for years to come!”

“Modern Tribe is simply the best wedding and event band around.  I know this is a bold statement but Lori Lynner and her band including Chad Quist delivered a perfect evening at our Santa Barbara wedding.  From Chad’s perfect processional on acoustic guitar to soul and funk, he was on point.  We requested special songs for Chad and Lori to learn, from Grateful Dead’s Shakedown Street to Blondie’s Rapture, they never missed a beat and did covers that sounded like the original artists.  Modern Tribe kept our party on the dance floor all night long!  The range and foresight Lori provided were beyond our expectations.  She helped us select a perfect set list and guided the evening with our guest’s enjoyment in mind.  Our guests commented over and over they felt like they were at a concert as opposed to a wedding reception!  We highly recommend Modern Tribe and will absolutely be hiring them for any future events.”

Modern Tribe even got people on their feet dancing before the salad was served (and before dancing was set to begin)! The musicianship was superb, Lori’s voice was amazing and Chad ripped out some incredible guitar solos. The ensemble sang and played at a very high level. We received dozens of compliments from the guests who told us that they were blown away had never seen a wedding band of Modern Tribe’s caliber. “What a startling performance! Modern Tribe’s music made my company’s summer event an outstanding success. Modern Tribe performed a rich repertoire of cover songs including rock, pop and, as a special request they we are able to include some Latin music, Salsa and Cumbias sung in Spanish. As the coordinator of my company’s event the experience with Modern Tribe was great from beginning to end. Lori, the band’s manager, worked with me side-by-side as we completed the proper administrative paperwork (contracts, payments, insurance, etc.).
